Anime Club: A Registered Student Organization at the University of Texas at Austin

Welcome to the Anime Club at the University of Texas at Austin!

For the past 31 years, we have been providing anime fans at UT a place to meet, socialize, and watch anime together. From classics of the medium to the latest titles from Japan, our weekly screenings have something for everyone!

We meet every Friday evening at 7:00 PM in Painter Hall, room 4.42. We meet throughout the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, with the exception of exam weeks, school holidays, and occasional nights off (e.g. when an anime convention is being held nearby). For a complete listing of current events, please see the current semester’s schedules.

All of our events are free and open to all UT students, faculty, and staff, so please feel free to come by and check us out! For more information about our organization and activities, and to learn the awesome benefits of full membership, check out the links at the top of the page.

We hope to see you at our next meeting!

Special Note About Location

Our previous building, Welch Hall, is now under a multi-year renovation project, so we’ve been relocated for at least the near future. If you haven’t attended recently, please be sure to come to the correct location! Our new room is in Painter Hall, which is located right behind Welch, so it’s in the same area of campus, at least. (Check the latest schedules for the current room number.)

Latest News and Updates

It is time, once again, for the annual Halloween Cosplay Contest, to be held at our meeting this Friday, October 26th. Come in costume for a chance to win glorious prizes! Though even if you somehow, unwisely, show up garbed in mundane, non-costume attire, we will nonetheless allow you to partake of the sumptuous foods (pizza and cheap Halloween candy) that will be offered. Indeed, you might even still be able to win some prizes, despite your utter lack of adherence to even the basic theme of Halloween Cosplay itself! Truly, we are generous souls.

Oh yes, we will also be showing Anime, because we are Anime Club, after all. The cosplay contest will be held during the break period, though we encourage you to remain in costume at all times, starting right now.
